Pilates Northampton provides 1 hour classes in community venues in south Northampton. Classes consist of 50 minutes of Pilates exercises and 5/10 minutes relaxation. In addition one to one pilates tuition is also available.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a method of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th Century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates has the ability to transform the way you look and feel by

  • increasing muscular strength and flexibility
  • improving your posture
  • improving your core and back strength

Who is it for?

Pilates helps to retrain and strengthen muscles which have been neglected due to our hetic lifestyles such as rounded shoulders (too much computer work or driving) or weak lower backs due to slack tummy muscles or poor stance. It's great for rehabilitation from injury or illness and used widely by physiotherapists to help alleviate back pain.

Pilates exercises have evolved, developed and are adapted to suit the function of today's individual. The benefits of Pilates are well known and as a result practised widely by professional dancers, top athletes, Hollywood celebrities and potentially next week by YOU.

What you do ?

Pilates exercises are practised in a slow controlled manner, nothing is forced, usually in a standing, seated or floor based position sometimes using equipment.

Suitable for all, working at your own pace and ability in a class setting you will reap great benefits whilst meeting a whole group of new friends.

What is Trigger Point Pilates ?

This class is aimed at anyone who suffers from repeated niggling injuries or have constant pain in their backs, knees, shoulders or neck.

Trigger Point Pilates aims to relieve pain and muscular tension using massage techniques combined with functional Pilates exercises.
